About Us
Our Teacher
Kim Avery, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, has lived in
Winter Haven for 17 years, and has been actively teaching Bible studies,
facilitating small groups, and leading women’s ministries for most of that time.
Her authority is based on Scripture, her passion is the Lord Jesus Christ, and her
heart is to see the women of Winter Haven transformed as they come to love Him deeply
through an ongoing study of His Word.
Kim is also a Certified Life Coach, and enjoys working with Christian women to help them reclaim
the joy and vision God intended for their lives. She helps ordinary women lead extraordinary
lives.
Kim is also a Certified Career Coach, and is successfully helping both men and women navigate
the ever-changing job market to both secure the positon they want and get the most satisfaction
out of it.

Our Vision
For women, through the study of God’s Word, to increasingly know and experience
the fullness of the living Christ in and through every moment of their lives.
Leadership
LifeRenewal is led by a team of mature believers who hold as their deepest desire
to do "Christ’s Work Christ’s Way."
Christ’s Work:
We are committed to supporting and enhancing the ministry of local churches
as they obey the Great Commission spoken by our Lord in Matthew 28:18-20:
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. ‘Go therefore and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the
Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’”
Christ’s Way:
Our leadership team has committed themselves to being Servant-Leaders and:
- extending the love that we have been shown by Christ to all others
- living and modeling authentic and humble lives
- acknowledging our constant need of grace and thus practicing on-going repentance as a whole way of life such that
- we are driven to a deeper and deeper dependence on Christ requiring
- a more intimate knowledge of Him and love relationship with Him
Class Format
Yearly Calendar
Class is set up to meet weekly in the fall and spring of each year. Each study
series is approximately 10-16 weeks long. Having two distinct time-limited
sessions allows women to fully participate during the school year but still be
free during the summer and Christmas holiday season.
Teaching Time
This is a 45 to 50 minute period of time where the Scripture passages being
studied are taught by a gifted teacher to the class as a whole. Careful emphasis
is given to strong Biblical teaching and learning how to apply God’s timeless
truths directly to our lives today.
Quality Study Materials
For a deeper experience, our participants are invited to do their own study of
the Scripture before attending the weekly class. Though not required, our goal
is make quality Bible Study Workbooks available to allow women the opportunity
to study and explore God’s Word on their own.
Connection Groups
For a maximum growth experience class members may also join a small discussion
group and go over the Bible Study together after attending the teaching session.
These discussion groups are made up of 8-10 participants and are led by a
trained small group leader. This time allows the group to discuss and apply the
truths taught, allows friendships to form, prayer needs to be made known, and
accountability to develop.
Childcare
It is our prayer that God will send many young mothers to our group. That being
the case, we desire to provide safe and loving childcare to children preschool
age and younger.
Statement of Faith
THE SCRIPTURES
We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit
and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of
God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.
THE GODHEAD
We believe in the Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three
persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect
life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him,
alone, for salvation.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength
and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.
MAN
We believe that all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s
displeasure, except by His mercy.
SALVATION
We believe that (a) salvation is by grace, a free gift of God apart from works,
(b) salvation involves repentance, a change of mind in respect to God and thus
turning from one’s own way to God’s way, (c) salvation is through personal faith
in the Lord Jesus Christ, (d) all who receive Jesus Christ are regenerated by the
Holy Spirit and become the children of God, and (e) true salvation will be
manifested by a changed life.
THE FUTURE
We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and
to receive His people to Himself.
Relationship with Local Churches
LifeRenewal is comprised of a group of Christians from many different churches
and denominations and is designed to complement and assist, not compete with,
the local churches in Winter Haven. We recognize that the Lord has chosen the
local church as His primary channel of ministry to this community. It is our
goal to encourage class members to belong to and actively support their local
churches and be servants and servant-leaders in their congregations. In fact,
as class participants grow in faith and in knowledge of God’s Word, they become
better equipped to serve in their own churches, and through those churches, to
serve their community.
